A moment for reflection - ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

A moment for reflection -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀A year ago we entered our first full lockdown! Where has this year gone? At times it feels I have blinked and time has evaporated at others the clocks seem to have stood still.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀This time last year TWE had already started to feel the effects of Covid, the postponements flood led in but there remained an glimmer of hope this would just be a short term measure. A year on and we are still in a lockdown although one not as controlled as we entered into a year ago. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀This year has been mentally the toughest of my life, I have constantly had everything I believed in challenged & my eyes & heart have been opened in more ways than I could have imagined. February 2020 I was charging into what should have been the best year ever for TWE now March 2021 I am crawling into the shortest wedding season ever known. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I have learnt how resilient I am, when my backs against the wall I can stand and fight. Not one penny of government support has yet come my way but here the business is still standing. I am exhausted and I feel I have aged about 10 years but I have done it and on those dark days I will always be able to return back to the knowledge that I never gave up & even though my business hasn’t thrived like it should have it still carried on and remained a constant. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I have huge respect for the businesses who have been able pivot and fly. At times in all this craziness it has taken all my strength to get out of bed and face the day. My brain has been more muddled than ever before, filled with fear, sadness, anger at the injustice of it all & yet it has still managed to be creative and find a way to keep the money coming in. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀So although this isn’t over and still I hold so much anxiety for the year ahead, I do feel hopeful for the future. TWE will be evolving over the next few months and I am excited to take you all with me on the next part of my journey.

I love Neomi's ability to capture beauty, the texture that jumps out from her images and that slight moody tone to her work. If I’m honest this week has been exhausting and yesterday’s budget relief soon turned sour when you realise that being ‘included’ isn’t actually financially that great (I hope they prove me wrong) and that the money if it comes won’t be landing probably until May, 2 whole months away and a whole new tax year (sneaky fuckers!) It reminds me of the feeling when you get back from a wedding setup, when you can't stop smiling because you have worked so hard and you are so mentally energised from the excitement of the day but so exhausted from the non stop adrenaline of working to a deadline. God I love this feeling!
