I created this Polaroid camera station for C & C using my old salesman box (being added to website very soon) decorated with geos, signage and old cameras. When I packed down there wasn’t a full Polaroid film left! It can sometimes be hard to over look these areas, if you don’t emphasise them they can be over looked by guests. .

It seems very poignant that just as all our businesses face a turbulent future that I achieve one of my business goals. I have always wanted one of my styled weddings to appear on @lovemydress and today is the day! @crippsbarn is a stunning venue and it lends itself so well to all the extra details a stylist brings that together make a big impact. Reading through the blog post made me a little emotional, I can’t wait to get that buzz of styling a wedding again, seeing everyone so excited! Then I read this from bride Claire and my heart burst! ‘’Our décor was a mix of random stuff from our house, things we had collected and lots of flowers, mainly all curated by the super woman Gemma at The White Emporium.” Chris and Claire thank you so much for trusting me with your day. I loved working with you and being part of your day. Wishing you all the love at this time!

Last summer I decided it was time to get serious with this Biz. To shake it up and make it my sole income. I took on a business mentor, I invested a lot of time into dreaming and planning, took risks that paid off and when I sat down at the start of this year to plan 2020 it was ambitious, it was going to be hard work but it was going to be a game changer!
Last week I was 99% close to confirming the biggest styled project of my career with another awesome fellow supplier.... now who knows. I was lying awake worrying I had to much work to do now I am worrying I won’t have enough.

This isn’t a sob story. This is the reality of our current situation. BUT there is a positive, I couldn’t see it yesterday but I can today. The industry I work in is the most caring and loving of any I have been a part of. We are picking each other up and supporting in any way we know how. My couples are amazing, they are getting through these horrendous decisions with compassion for my little biz.
The White Emporium will be here in 3 months, 6 months, 12 months and beyond. I will still have a smile on my face. Expansion plans maybe on hold but it obviously wasn’t the right time.
To all my industry pals, couples and everyone who is feeling beaten up and deflated. We have totally got this. As a wise person told me this week... ‘everything will be ok in the end. If it’s not ok, it’s not the end.’ Pic: @emilylittlephotography

In the midst of chaos comes a calming moment. After a near meltdown in Sainsbury’s earlier I have tried to step away from the world of news today and I definitely think it has done me some good. I have a full day of admin planned tomorrow and I am pretty excited that cross fingers I can get through a lot, answer all emails & really make the most of my last day of childcare for a while. I am going to put some happy tunes on and probably walk away from my phone for a little while to give myself some headspace. .

The Good Times will come again! Normality can sometimes seem so far away. I popped down to @vanstoneparkvenue today and packing down inside @countrytipis tipi looking out over the lake you could forget the world around was going a little bit shit! Loved this atmospheric look @flowers_at_fifty_eight and I created. Big greenery hoops with hanging origami cranes provided pops of colour, the shape of the tipi was broken up with fabric drapes and the tablescape featured dark and moody tones. .

I wanted to post a photo tonight that I found calming, scrolling through my library this one instantly soothed me. I don’t know about anyone else but this past week has felt turbulent, so much uncertainty around. 2020 had and still is looking a booming year for this little biz which makes the developments this week all the more unnerving. BUT... it is business as usual, Weddings and events will continue until we are told to stop and I have a great team of freelancers in place to step in if needed. For now let’s keep living our lives and supporting each other. .

I don’t know why I don’t shout about these mor

I don’t know why I don’t shout about these more as they always get so much love. My hand drawn maps actually pre date The White Emporium, they appeared in my own wedding invite, then an invite of a friend, then a friend of a friend and the rest they say is history. I love to doodle and often these maps take shape whilst I am sat with a glass of wine in the evening. They have revolved to include table plans, engagement mementos and birthday presents. I have captured areas of Yorkshire, London, Italy, California and even Egypt. They continually evolve and develop and everyone is unique. .

Ahh man what a week it has been. From poorly toddlers, to hidden gem venue walk arounds, to failing at tackling my to do list, to epic meetings this week has passed in a blur and I am definitely ending it with some rhubarb gin! .

Signing of Friday with some more spam of this luxe yurt wedding I styled for @claireclarkeweddings.
Full design plan, with a focus on precision, sophistication and Elegant Manhattan Vibes. Zinc top tables and ghost chairs, were accompanied with grey linen table runners, brass edge photo frames and brass candle sticks finished off with @esteranderik candles from @scandinavianhomeware.

I love seeing how other people style my hire collection. @laurengreystylist took my macrame runners to @elmorecourt at the weekend and showed that macrame doesn’t just work in a tipi! I love the modern feel to this look, the rust colours combining with the neutral colours of the macrame and pampas. Don’t write macrame off as just being for the boho lovers!

Who said spring needs to be bright. @flowers_at_fifty_eight took the prettiest tulips, hellebores and spring mix of blooms and mixed it perfectly into the moody setting of berry candles, brown bottles, brass vessels and candles sticks stood on rattan matts!
With grazing boards becoming more and more popular this gathered setup is perfect as it keeps the middle of the table free whilst still making an impact!

Today I joined @claireclarkeweddings for a venue visit of the the lovely @hothorpevenues woodlands. Whenever Claire gets me involved with a wedding you know it’s going to have lots of styled elements, be packed full of attention to detail and just generally be pretty wow! So tonight I throwing back to this exquisite yurt wedding with a brief of modern, luxe and sophistication. Everything was thought about, the place settings laid with expert precision and nothing was over looked. It was just 👌! .

Very excited to have these pics land in my inbox today! This was the first ever full design plan wedding (back in 2018, that seems along time ago now) that I worked on, think sophisticated New York roof top in the Shires! Clean lines, minimalism, zinc tables, marble, copper, white and greenery set amongst @fmtents light and an airy yurt. .

I worked with @claireclarkeweddings and the couple from the beginning of the design process, producing design boards and helping guide them visually. When you become so heavily invested in a wedding seeing it bought to life brings the biggest buzz! I love my job!!!
