Hi there!I’ve had a lot of new followers lately and thought I would pop on and say hi and thank you for coming to my corner of Instagram. I am currently on maternity leave, enjoying a slower pace of life. Even if my out of office keeps turning itself off!Instead of telling you some facts about myself I thought I would share some of my dreams, put them out there into the universe and see what comes back. I would love to have my work appear in Vogue and not pay for it! Ever since I was a teenager Vogue was my bible I kept every addition until I moved house and couldn’t take my library with me. Their fashion editorials have always been a huge source of inspiration! I would like to publish a book, I’ve got a couple of ideas and I am definitely thinking something photo heavy. I have written a couple of help guides that I need to get out into the world but they keep getting pushed to the back of the to do list. Ceremony Spaces-⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀One of my top tips for couples when it comes to a ceremony space is to think about something to frame you. It can be a back drop, an arch or a display on either side. Don’t make it to small that the space becomes cramped, or to big that you become lost in it. Creating a focal point will help stand you out from the background, look amazing in photos and perfectly end the aisle.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Just a little reminder I am on maternity leave until June and after that only have a few key weekend dates left. That happened right?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀As I look forward to 2022 and start making plans for this years weddings. The craziness of 2021 seems so far away! Remember when it was actual government policy that guests at weddings had to be seated to be able to have a drink? So many last minute changes were made, extra seating drafted in, table plans for so many of last years weddings changed on a daily basis in the run up to a wedding as the rules were ever changing! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀We created this lounge area for S&A, with furniture drafted in from @nikkitapdesigns_hire we managed to seat 80+ guests for their drinks reception whilst we turned the room around next door. Christmas Countdown-Christmas is my favourite time of year! I love the build up, the sense of anticipation! I must confess I think I prefer Christmas Eve to Christmas Day. Real Wedding Feature -This most gorgeous real wedding is live on @rockmywedding today. Kathleen & Adam were married in the grounds of her family home, with clear span marque and lots of DIY touches. Maternity Leave-The out of office is on! The social media is scheduled and whilst I’m not as prepped on the admin as I would have liked, at 39 weeks it is time to step away for a while. I have pushed my body to breaking point & my brain has become less and less able to process more than one job at a time. I am so relieved I got this far, that the weekends wedding was amazing and baby did not make an early appearance. I don’t think when you are self employed it’s ever easy to have a maternity break, especially in this industry where the FOMO impulse is so strong. But I am so looking forward to being forced to slow down for a little while. I have got an awesome team of freelancers representing TWE over the next few weeks and months so I know the business is in good hands. This is me-I haven’t shown my face for a while so thought I should come on and say hi! This is me doing what I love, finishing off a grazing table at @holdenbyhouse ready to be filled with cold meats and breads. This was the last wedding of my 4 wedding weekend and I’m still smiling, my hair may have gone a bit mad, my makeup non existent, my feet sore but honestly that was one of the best and proudest weekends of the year! So a few interesting facts about me, I used to be a fashion designer before embarking on this crazy venue stylist journey. I’m currently obsessed with biscuits! From juggling a poorly child to an exciting install at Chicheley Hall I feel like I have accomplished zero off my to do list!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀My inbox is bouncing this week with so many real wedding galleries so huge thanks to all the photographer pros and my couples who have been kind enough to send me some⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀imagery to use! Next week I will be on the social media scheduling and swooning through all the amazing galleries! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀This year saw my first ever visit to @kingscollegedining for the wedding of E&J. The main hall is stunningly dramatic and I worked with E&J to collate a gorgeously elegant setting to really showcase the venue and them as a couple. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀As well as booking my design plan services they also hired all the glass candle sticks, blush pink table runners, window mirror table plan, wooden plinths, signage, lanterns, glass cylinders with faux candles and loads more.
